Summary: To save his brother, a young Shen Wei pledges his allegiance to a Dixing warlord. He grows up to become the most feared general in the Dixing Uprising. But that is not his destiny. So here I am again. With a brand new fandom and new words being poured on paper and it's amazing and wonderful and I MISSED THIS SO MUCH.

Due to a ~~horrible~~ wonderful enabler, I have fallen head over heels into the Guardian fandom and my love for Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan can probably only be compared with my absolute adoration for Zhu Yilong. I mean look at him...

Honestly. I've been looking quite a lot.

So, I haven't been around on DW for like ever, and mostly used it as a mirror prior to the last great LJ exodus. I'm not sure how active I'm going to be in the future. Twitter is where I roam these days. But right now everything feels new and shiny and Guardian peeps seem to be around here somewhere, so who knows.

First things first: Thank you so much for putting time and effort into making a gift for me. I really really appreciate it and am excited to see what you come up with! Second: Don't be scared! I’m sure I'll love whatever you make. If my prompts don't inspire you, don't worry about it.

Here are a few other things I like:

Canon compliant stories or AUs where they still have their powers, mutant politics, mansion fic, kid fic, AUs where Erik stays/comes back/they resolve their differences, time-travel, shrewed and not-so-goody-two-shoes Charles (but not bad, I just don't think he's a saint. Or a woobie.), Erik being a bit of an asshole, one of them being more sexually experienced than the other, Erik having a dark past, Erik having a jewish/German background, detectives/spies/secret ops AUs, BAMF Erik (BAMF Charles too!), Western, historical AUs, high school AUs and/or growing up together, sibling incest (yes, I’m a pervert), ghosts, demons and mystical beings, hurt/comfort, amnesia, cyborgs, holiday centric schmoop

I like character-driven stories and I like it when those characters are competent and smart, even if they have hang-ups and issues and traumas that stand in their way. I like it when they have faults.

I like sassy dialogue, whether it's banter or flirting or epic shouting matches.

In regard to relationships I like first times, getting together, make-up/break-up, friends to lovers or even enemies to lovers. I’m not so much interested in established relationship fluff. I lovelovelove UST and pining and characters being a little oblivious to each others or even their own feelings.

I really love equal relationships. I love when they are on equal footing, when it's give and take and both are strong characters in their own right. If there’s a (perceived) power imbalance due to age/experience/status, I like it when it’s compensated by something else. I also like it when neither one is being the top or the bottom in the relationship. That also means I'm not really fond of dominance and submission or alpha/omega dynamics.

I’m not afraid of angst in general, and I like it when it pulls on my heart-strings as long as there is a happy end on the horizon. Please don't break my heart over the holidays without putting it back together!

If this all doesn't inspire you, write/art/create what does. Honestly, I love lots of things and I probably forgot half of them. Just please don't go into the direction of my dislikes.

What I don’t like:

noncon, humiliation, genderbending, a/b/o dynamics, D/s relationships, watersports, mpreg as a normal thing (as opposed to wtf how could this happen?), major character death, dark!Charles/Erik, woobie Charles

I’m also really serious about Charles/Erik as my OTP, so if you choose to create something that’s not Charles/Erik, I’d prefer it if you would not put them in a romantic relationship with someone else. Thank you! <3

There is someone ringing the bell. There is someone ringing the bell quite insistently. The bell never before managed to sound so annoyed, almost as if it was scowling.

There are two men on the doorstep. One blond, one dark. The blond one is wearing a shit eating-grin. The dark one is wearing a very nice blue, knee-length skirt with white polka dots. There is also a birthday cake.

''I know, you don't know us,'' the blond man says. ''But this is for you.''

He shoves the cake forward. It's chocolate. ''Oh, uhm... Happy Birthday!''

The dark haired man – the one in a skirt – scowls. Well, he was scowling before but now he is positively glaring.

'''Oh,uhm Happy Birthday', Arthur? Really?''

''What?'' the blond man – Arthur, apparently – asks. ''I did what she asked, didn't I? I gave her friend the cake.''

''You didn't give it to her, you shoved it at her.''

''Oh, shut up, Merlin.'' Arthur turns back towards the door. ''You must excuse him,'' he says, pointing his thumb at his companion. ''He's a bit grumpy because he lost at Truth or Dare.''

''You can't lose at Truth or Dare, Arthur. Not if you actually comply with the dare, which – I hope I don't have to point out – I did.''

''Pfft. Sure you can lose if you comply with that kind of grace, Merlin. Come on, don't be a spoil sport. Just because you erroneously thought I’d have more of a problem asking a total stranger if I could do them a favour, it doesn’t mean you have to be a sore loser about it. You could still give this nice lady a smile on her birthday. You look especially fetching in that skirt, if I may say so.''

Merlin looks down at where his long legs stick out of the sea of polka dots, feet clad in a pair of Doc Martins. The glare he sends at Arthur after that should have dropped the blond, but Arthur's grin only broadens.

Suddenly there is a malicious little smile on Merlin's face. ''Well, Arthur, if I remember correctly, you haven't fulfilled the whole favour yet, have you?''

The other man pales. He looks at his companion disbelievingly. ''I hate you.''

''Oh, come on, Arthur. You don't want to spoil this nice lady's birthday, do you?''

Arthur's smile is pained. He opens his mouth. He closes it again. Merlin nudges him in the rips.

Closing his eyes in mortification, Arthur takes a deep breath. Then he starts to sing.

''Happy Birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear altocello. Happy birthday to youuuu!''

Okay, so I decided to drop out of

A Beacon In The Dark

Hello everybody,

so, yeah, it seems I have been bitten by the 'Merlin' crazy. I had been lurking and reading (and of course watching) for a while already, but never had the courage or maybe just the drive to write for this fandom myself. But then I haven't done much writing till recently in any capacity. Real life had me in a headlock and my old hounds (read the HP fandom) just didn't hold my interest anymore.

So when I signed up for Merlin Redux, it was like an experiment. Let's see if I can do this. And now? I've got a Merlin Redux story waiting to be posted, am 13 k into my Big Bang story and just finished a fill for a prompt for Merlin Muses.

So, I'd say I'm back. Boy, am I back! Maybe a little different, but life's about change and my drug of choice has always been writing. The muse sails with the inspiration. So, hello 'Merlin', here I am!

Hello everybody!

So, some of you have been wondering where I am, or maybe more importantly where the next update is...

I'm truly sorry to say that sadly it's not just around the corner. The thing is... just after my last post I found out I am pregnant. Which is of course wonderful. Not so wonderful is the constant 24-hours-a-day nausea and sickness or the bone-deep tiredness that's been holding me captive for the past five weeks. I've cut back on work, my social life is practically non-existent and I can't tell you how much daytime TV sucks (for that matter so does nightome TV).

I'm not telling you all this to gain a round of pity. I am still very very happy about becoming a mommy. :) But unfortunately, as long as things don't improve (and, god, am I hoping they do soon) there won't be any writing happening. Right now, all I could probably write would be PREGNANT Sirius and I guess that would be as confusing for you as it would be for me.

I am REALLY looking forward to write again, you don't know how much I miss it. And as soon as I am better I hope to be back full steam. I can't make you any promises, but if this works out like it does with most women I should be able to get back into it in maybe around two weeks. But then there really are no rules to pregnancy.

So... bear with me?

I realize I have been very silent for a while, but it's a new year and I do have a few resolutions, one being to be less reclusive. December has been crazy for me. The weeks running up to Christmas left me gasping for breath and I had to cut down on everything that was not of vital importance. Which sadly meant I had to give up on my seasonal fic I had planned. Well, I guess that gives me a lot of time to get it ready until NEXT Christmas.

Those of you who are waiting for the next chapter of The Heart's Desire, keep your hopes up. I have about 6.5 k ready and I think it will definitely be ready this month. LOL.

Those of you who are waiting for the next installment of Shadow of a Doubt. I am deeply sorry. No, I have not and will not abandon this fic, but right now I can't stand the pressure to spend equal time on both my WIPs. I promise to concentrate on it again when THD is done, which should be in another three or four chapters.
